What is Mobile Check Deposit?
Mobile check deposit allows users to deposit physical checks with their smartphone camera, without the need to visit a bank branch.
Benefits for Commercial Clients
Mobile check deposit is convenient, accelerates funds availability and enables deposits outside of regular banking hours. This feature is especially useful for businesses that receive multiple checks, allowing them to process payments more efficiently and avoid disruptions.
Using Mobile Check Deposit
To deposit a check in our Commercial Banking app:
- Tap ••• More in the bottom navigation bar.
- In the Money Movement section, tap Check Deposit
- Click Deposit a Check
- Click Continue
- Select the account you wish to deposit the check into
- Click Continue
- Tap Front Check
- Align your check in the frame, then tap the capture button
- Tap Back Check
- Align your check in the frame, then tap the capture button
- Click Continue
- Tap Approve to complete the deposit.
Note: If our software cannot properly read the check, it will prompt you to take the photos again with further instructions.
To view recently deposited checks:
- Tap ••• More in the bottom navigation bar
- Click Check Deposit
- Navigate to the Recent section.
Note: All Mobile Check Deposits are subject to our verification and final review and may be rejected by us for any reason. If there is something that will prevent your deposit from being made available per our Funds Availability Policy, our team will reach out to you. Otherwise, you may check your recent account activity on the next business day to verify. Deposits may not be available for immediate withdrawal.
Endorsing a Check for Mobile Deposit
To prevent your mobile check deposit from being delayed or rejected, all checks must be properly endorsed with the account holder's signature and the phrase “FOR MOBILE DEPOSIT ONLY GRASSHOPPER BANK.” For more information on why mobile check deposit may be delayed or rejected, refer to our Tips for a Successful Mobile Check Deposit.
Transaction Cutoff Times
.Any deposit received after 4:00 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday (except holidays) will be processed the next business day. For more information, refer to our Transaction Cutoff Times.
Disposal of Physical Copies
Per your agreement with Grasshopper, you are required to securely and permanently destroy original checks after 14 days. It is always a good practice to retain physical copies of deposited checks until they are successfully processed. Once confirmed, securely dispose of them following proper document disposal procedures. For more information, refer to our Master Service Agreement.
