When & Why You May Want to Increase Your Limits
As your business grows, you may require higher limits to support increased transaction volumes. Common scenarios where an increase may be beneficial include:
- Scaling Business Operations: Increased cash flow and higher payment volumes.
- Large Purchases or Vendor Payments: Making higher-value payments efficiently.
- Frequent Wire Transfers: Sending funds to suppliers, vendors, or partners.
- Higher Deposit Needs: Growing revenue streams requiring higher deposit limits.
Qualifying for a Limit Increase
Eligibility for a limit increase depends on several factors, including:
- Account Tenure: The length of time you’ve maintained an active account.
- Transaction History: A strong track record of account usage and responsible transactions.
- Deposit Activity: Consistent deposit patterns demonstrating account growth.
- Business Verification: Additional documentation may be required to confirm business needs.
Note: Clients do not qualify for a limit increase until they have had a relationship with us for at least 30 days.
Requesting a Limit Increase
If you need to increase your account limits, follow these steps:
- Review Your Current Limits: Familiarize yourself with our default limits above. If you aren't sure whether our default limits apply to you, or what your actual limits are, you can contact Client Services to confirm.
- Determine the Best Type of Increase for Your Needs: We offer both temporary and permanent limit increases. Consider whether you need a short-term adjustment for a one-time transaction or a long-term increase to support ongoing business growth.
- Submit a Request: Contact Client Services via secure message or your Relationship Manager to request an increase. You will need to provide the requested amount and purpose for the increase. You may also be required to provide additional supporting information, such as details about your business growth and expected transaction volume.
- Approval Process: Our fraud and risk team will review your request. Approval times vary but temporary increases typically take 1-2 business days. Permanent increases typically take 5-7 business days.
Note: At this time, we are unable to increase bill pay or ATM limits. A request for a limit increase does not guarantee approval.
