At Grasshopper, we believe in rewarding you for the purchases you already make. That’s why our cash back program is designed to help you earn money on everyday spending—whether you’re buying office supplies, treating a client to lunch, or covering travel expenses.
How to Earn & Qualify for Cash Back
To participate in the cash back program, you must be an Innovator Business Checking or Accelerator Checking account holder and maintain an average monthly balance of $10,000 or more in your account. Your account must also remain open, active and in good standing, and your purchases must be made with a debit card issued by Grasshopper Bank.
Qualified purchases are limited to online and signature-based purchases made with a debit card issued by Grasshopper Bank from an Innovator Business Checking or Accelerator Checking account. Any goods and services purchased with a Grasshopper Business Debit Card that are returned or otherwise credited to the account are not eligible for cash back. Unlawful purchases and purchases of currency, cash or cash equivalents are also not considered qualified purchases.
Making Signature-Based Purchases
To make a signature-based purchase, select “credit” at point-of-sale kiosks. Typically, the “credit” option is often pre-selected when making purchases online using a debit card, however, the payment transaction type (signature-based or other) is ultimately decided by the merchant and how the transaction is transmitted to Grasshopper Bank at the time of processing. Online subscription payments may not be considered signature-based purchases.
Redeeming Cash Back
We believe in making your business banking experience as smooth and frictionless as possible, which is why we do not require account holders to redeem their cash back. As a benefit of being our client, we automatically apply your unlimited 1% cash back rewards each month in the form of a credit to your account.
How to View Your Cash Back
To make things even easier, we’ve built simple, transparent tools into your online and mobile banking experience so you can easily keep track of your cash back earnings in real time. Here’s how:

How to Maximize Cash Back Rewards
There are several different ways to maximize your cash back rewards, but the easiest way to increase your earnings is by switching your primary banking functions to Grasshopper Bank! You can also start maximizing your unlimited 1% cash back rewards by adding your Grasshopper Business Debit Card to your favorite digital wallet and ensuring that you’re using the right card for as many everyday purchases and transactions as possible. Always choosing your Grasshopper Business Debit Card at checkout will ensure that you get the most value from your rewards as long as you remember to select “credit” rather than debit when completing a purchase at point-of-sale kiosks. You can also enjoy the benefit of unlimited 1% cash back when you pay monthly bills by using your Grasshopper Business Debit Card to set up automatic and/or recurring payments.

Cash Back Rewards offer 1.00% cash-back on all Qualified Purchases made by eligible Innovator Business Checking and Accelerator Checking account holders. To qualify, account holders must meet all requirements and a transaction must be deemed as a Qualified Purchase. Clients are required to maintain an average balance of $10,000 or more within the calendar month in their account, and the account must remain open, active, and in good standing to participate in the program, meaning: No NSF (non-sufficient funds) items during the preceding twelve calendar months. Grasshopper Bank reserves the right to modify the description of “good standing” at any time.
Qualified Purchases are signature-based purchases made with a debit card from an Innovator Business Checking or Accelerator Checking account. The payment transaction type (signature-based or other) is ultimately decided by the merchant and how the transaction is transmitted to Grasshopper Bank at the time of processing. We reserve the right to determine if a transaction was a Qualified Purchase, and to establish additional types of Qualified Purchases that could be made available in a variety of ways. Any goods or services purchased with the debit card issued by Grasshopper Bank that are returned or otherwise credited to the account are not qualified purchases. Unlawful purchases and purchases of currency, cash or cash equivalents (including, without limitation, currency from the U.S. Mint, Travelers Cheques, gift cards, Cryptocurrency, Casino Chips, Peer to Peer Payments, prepaid debit cards, account openings, loan payments, or other cash equivalents) made with a Debit Card issued by Grasshopper Bank are not Qualified Purchases. We may require documentation to validate that certain purchases are Qualified Purchases. If you or the Bank closes the account for any reason before the end of the statement cycle, you will forfeit all rewards accrued through your linked debit card during that statement cycle.
