Think of it as a translator that allows your banking data and AI tools to “speak the same language” for smarter, faster insights.

- Connect Your Account: Once you’re admitted into the beta, you can access the Grasshopper Control Center to select your preferred AI tool and securely connect your Business Banking account.

- Privacy & Security: Your account data is only shared with AI tools when you explicitly grant access. You are solely responsible for the security of your AI, its platform, your devices, and understanding its data usage.
- Permissions Control: You can decide how often you share your account data with an AI tool, and you can revoke access at any time.
- Accuracy: AI-generated insights are based on your financial data but should be reviewed before making major decisions. AI can provide incorrect information or advice, and Grasshopper is not responsible for errors or your financial decisions.

A: At Grasshopper, we only allows Admins and Authorized Signers to generate API tokens and secrets necessary to configure the MCP server connection. Then, the MCP server is only accessible to each individual Claude or Chat GPT team user who configures it. Access to your financial data is limited to individuals who have the necessary permission in our online banking platform and configure the MCP server themselves.
Q: Can an AI assistant make payments or move money?
A: No. This version is strictly read-only. An AI assistant cannot initiate transactions, move funds, or make any changes to your account via the MCP Server.
Q: What if AI provides incorrect information?
A: AI technologies can sometimes make mistakes. We are not responsible for any incorrect information or advice generated. You are solely responsible for verifying any information and for your financial decisions.
Q: Can I use AI Agents other than Claude or Chat GPT?
A: Currently, Claude and Chat GPT is the primary way to access this feature in the beta. Grasshopper Bank and Narmi are working to support other LLMs in the future. The MCP is designed to be open, so the long-term goal is to support any AI agent using this standard.
Q: Is my data secure?
A: Yes. Both Grasshopper and Narmi implement bank-grade security protocols. You explicitly grant access, and the connection is read-only. Once connected, treat your AI accounts with the same security as you would your digital banking username and password; do not share them with anyone.
